The zoning of property determines the answers to many questions. The link below titled Zoning Ordinance provides concise descriptions of what each different Zoning District classification (like "R1" or "AG-20") means and also provides detail on the regulations concerning the specific land uses that are allowed within a given zoning district.

You can find the zoning for any parcel of land in the County! If you know either the address or the Assessor's Parcel Number (APN), click the GIS Interactive Maps link to get that and other information.
