The awards listed below come from a variety of companies and organizations, and reflect the success of the County in creating an online presence that serves our citizens efficiently and effectively!
Digital Counties Survey Nevada County has been awarded
First Place in 2011, Second Place in 2010,
Third Place in 2009 and 2008,
First Place in 2007 and earning Second Place honors for
three years in a row 2006 - 2004 in the Digital Counties Survey, sponsored by the Center for Digital Government and the National Association of Counties (NACo). All counties in the United States are invited to participate by completing a detailed questionnaire describing our eGovernment efforts. Counties compete in population ranges; Nevada County is in the "Under 150,000" category.
NACo Achievement Awards
The National Association of Counties awarded the County a
2011 Achievement Award for the Drug Court Automation Workflow and in
2009 for our Human Resources Information Dashboard, an internal service that greatly improves the efficiency of our HR operations.
Best of the Web Nevada County was a Finalist (places #6 through 10) in
2006 and 2007.
Best of the Web is an annual awards program that recognizes the most innovative, user-friendly state and local government portals. This national awards program judges state, city and county Web sites on their innovation, Web-delivery of public services, efficiency, economy, and functionality for improved citizen access. This program is also sponsored by the Center for Digital Government.
CCISDA Awards In
2011 Nevada County received two Innovation awards, one for our "Secure Document routing for Justice" project and the second award for our remote access "Secure Employee Portal" project. In
2007 the Award was received for our
www.dial211.com "Community Resource Directory" project and in
2006 for our "1058 Windows" virtual court attendance project., In
2003, Nevada County received "Best of California Innovation Awards" in the categories of "Best Application Serving the Public" (for our documents-integrated Website) and "Most Innovative Use of Technology" (with San Mateo County, for leadership in the California County Information Architecture Project). This program is sponsored by the California County Information Systems Directors Association and the Center for Digital Government.
CalGIS
URISA, the Association for GIS Professionals, and their California chapters come together to present the CalGIS Conference annually. In
2011, Nevada County was awarded the Outstanding Internet Presentation Award for our MyNeighborhood online citizen mapping and parcel information application.

Nevada County was nominated by Xerox Corporation and awarded in
2003 a Laureate's Medal by the international "CW Heroes" program. The case study describing our integrated Website is now part of a permanent database of public-benefit technological innovation, distributed worldwide to educational and research institutions.
CSAC Challenge Awards
In
2011 CSAC award the County a Challenge Award for our GIS based MyNeighborhood citizen on-line mapping application. Nevada County, in conjunction with San Mateo County, received the
2003 award in the Multi-Agency Collaboration category for leadership in the California County Information Architecture Project.
National Academy of Public Administration Awards
In
2002, Nevada County was the only under-100,000-population county to receive the Silver Seal of Distinction for Excellence in eGovernance.
