Notice to all architects, contractors, engineers and owner/builders:
Five complete sets of building plans (structural) and five site plans are required at time of submission of application for any residential building project.
Six complete sets of building plans (structural) will be required for commercial building projects.

New Building Codes Effective January 1, 2011

New Building, Residential, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Energy, and Green Codes Effective January 1, 2011*

Effective January 1, 2011, all jurisdictions in the State of California, are required to adopt and enforce new codes that regulate construction.


2010 California Residential Code - Applies to one and two family houses and townhomes less than 3 stories in height. (Incorporates by adoption and reprints the 2009 International Residential Code.)

2010 CalGreen Code - Applies to certain new buildings only - all new residential buildings 3 stories or less and all new non-residential buildings. For a downloadable version click here - http://www.dgs.ca.gov/dsa/Programs/progCodes/title24.aspx

2010 California Building Code (Incorporates by adoption and reprints the 2009 International Building Code with California amendments. Published by the International Code Council, ICC)

2010 California Electrical Code (Incorporates by adoption and reprints the 2008 National Electrical Code with California amendments. Published by the National Fire Protection Agency, NFPA)

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS AND THE PUBLIC

Wildland-Urban reroofing requirements of the 2010 California Residential Code

The 2010 California Residential Codes sections R907.1, R902.1.4 and 327.5 require the following:

Roof Valleys - Where valley flashing is installed, the flashing shall be not less than 26 gage sheet corrosion-resistant metal installed over not less than one layer of minimum 72-pound mineral-surfaced no perforated cap sheet complying with ASTM D 3909, at least 36 inch wide running the full length of the valley.

Roof Gutters - Roof gutters shall be provided with the means to prevent the accumulation of leaves and debris in the gutter.

CDA is open to the public Monday through Friday (excluding County Holidays), from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM including the lunch hour.

Permits are not accepted for processing after 4:00 PM.

CDA accepts cash, checks, cashier's checks and most credit cards(not visa).
