Nevada County's history with medical cannabis starts in 1996 with the passage of the Compassionate Use Act for medical cannabis. Most recently, in the 2016 November election, Propsition 64 was passed in California allowing indoor grow for non-medical cannabis. Since the failure of Measure W, the Board of Supervisors Cannabis Regulations Subcommittee has taken steps towards forming a Cannabis Regualtion Community Adivisory Group. This group will advise the Board on the development of a permanent Cannabis Ordinance for Nevada County that will take into account the input of all community stakeholders. Nevada County has contracted MIG as a consultant during this process. MIG will provide facilitation services for the Cannabis Regulation Community Advisory Group to ensure a fair and equitable process while advising and drafting a new Cannabis Ordinance.

The application for the Cannabis Regulation Community Advisory Group is available from April 18 - May 2. Completed applications must be submitted by 5PM on May 2; late submissions or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
