Agricultural Advisory Commission

​The purpose of the Agricultural Advisory Committee is to advise and recommend to the Nevada County Board of Supervisors, and other county boards, commissions and departments, on matters affecting, or of interest to, the agricultural industry.

The Committee meets monthly, usually the second Wednesday of each month in the Board of Supervisors Chambers Rood Center,  950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, CA.

The Agricultural Advisory Committee

  • Gathers information and provides factual data on items affecting or of interest to the agricultural industry
    Provides a resource of agricultural information and advice on matters affecting or of interest to the agricultural industry
  • Reviews development projects and makes recommendations to decision-making bodies. Specific types of projects include:
    • Projects on lands designated for agricultural use that require a discretionary permit;
    • General plan amendments or zone changes that may affect agricultural lands;
    • Subdivisons of agriculturally designated lands;
    • Projects affecting lands under Williamson Act contract; and
    • Other projects that may support, enhance, or otherwise affect the agricultural industry.
