The Nevada County Collections Division seeks payment of unpaid debts owed to the County of Nevada, including those arising out of civil and criminal court actions.

Service Description:

The Collections Department serves in accordance with federal, state and local regulations governing the collection of fines, penalties and judgments. The Collections Department is located in the Nevada County Courthouse in downtown Nevada City, CA. Please see our Location and Directions page for office hours, office location, directions, contact information and more.

The Collections Division collects the following types of accounts:

  • Conservatorship
  • Code Enforcement (CDA)
  • District Attorney - Victim Restitution
  • Juvenile Hall Fees
  • Juvenile Fines (Not for Truckee)
  • Public Defender
  • Parking Citations & Equipment Violations and Registration
  • Probation
  • Superior Court Fines & Fees (Limited)
  • Sheriff Medical Costs

The Collections Division DOES NOT collect the following types of accounts:

  • Traffic Citations & Fines
  • Superior Court Misdemeanor Fines
  • Superior Court Felony Fines
