Role of the County Counsel

The County Counsel is appointed by the Board of Supervisors and acts as the attorney for the County, including:
 
  •   The Board of Supervisors;
  •   County Officers;
  •   Departments and Boards;
  •   Elected Officials;
  •   Certain special districts.
     
The Office of the County Counsel:
  •   Reviews legal documents concerning the County and its operations;
  •   Handles litigation for the Board of Supervisors, County officers and departments;    
  •   Drafts and reviews resolutions, ordinances and agreements
