The Truckee Library, the Friends of the Truckee Library, and the Truckee Donner Historical Society welcome the prominent and influential Swiss emigrant and early settler Captain John A. Sutter, here to discuss subjects such as his generous assistance to settlers crossing the mountains, and why he felt Truckee should not be part of California. David Fenimore, who will portray Sutter Chautauqua-style, is a longtime resident of the Truckee and North Tahoe communities.
