Nevada County Animal Control Division oversees Animal Control Operations
and the Sammie's Friends Animal Shelter
Contract. The Animal Control Division operates under the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and is located in the same building at the Eric Rood Administrative Center: 950 Maidu Avenue Suite 280, Nevada City, CA 95959. The goal of animal control officers is to gain compliance through education and, if needed, through the enforcement of applicable laws.
