Mission Statement

To develop recommendations for a comprehensive plan encompassing the services of law enforcement, treatment, education, and the private sector to combat the epidemic of substance abuse in our community through prevention, education, rehabilitation and appropriate prosecution and punishment.

Objectives
  • Protect children from the dangers of substance abuse.
  • Facilitate coordination of programs, services and resources to tackle substance abuse with surrounding counties, whenever appropriate.
  • Prevention through education.
  • Available treatment and rehabilitation for those who are eligible.
  • Support aggressive prosecution for those who make and sell illicit drugs.
  • Increase public awareness and knowledge about the problem.
  • Evaluate the impact of programs.
The Substance Abuse Advisory Board meets on the second Wednesday at 3:00 P.M. every month. The meeting is open to the public. Please call 265-1437 for meeting location.
