Effective 11/15/2021:

CDA highly recommends scheduling an appointment or dropping off your applications and plans to help stop the spread of COVID in our community.  Please check this website regularly to find updates.

The Department will continue to provide the following services:

  • Lobby is open from 8 am to 5 pm. 
  • New Project Submittal/Walk-in appointments accepted from 8 am to 3:30 pm.
  • Drop off or pick up boxes. Please allow a processing time of 24 to 48 hours from the date received. Pick-ups will need to be prearranged by contacting our staff.

Mission Statement: 

It is the mission of the Code Compliance Program to work in partnership with the people of Nevada County to promote and maintain a healthy, safe, and desirable living and working environment. Code Compliance helps maintain or improve the quality of the community by administering a fair and unbiased enforcement program to correct violations of codes and ordinances enacted by the Board of Supervisors in regards to property, buildings, and structures.
