Order a Recorded Document

There are several ways to obtain a copy of a Recorded Official Record.

Fee


The fee for copies and certified copies of a document(s):
  • Non-Certified: $3 for the first page of each document and $1 for each additional page of each Document.
  • Certified Copy: $4 for the first page of each document and $1 for each additional page of each Document.

In Person


Documents can be viewed at no charge in the Nevada County Recorders Office. A copy of a document located in the Grantor / Grantee index can be purchased in person at the Nevada County Recorders Office.

By Mail


To request copies, other than a birth, death or marriage certificate by mail complete and print out a Copy Request Form (PDF). Please provide the document number and date of recording, along with the appropriate fees. Make check payable to Nevada County Recorder and mail the request and check to:

These requests are processed within 1 to 2 business days of receipt of the request.

By Phone


A credit card will be necessary to purchase copies by phone. Call the Nevada County Recorders Office at 530-265-1221 with your document number and date of recording. (There is an additional $7 service charge applied to the copy fees to request the copies using a credit card.) The copy/copies will be mailed the day of the request.

Download the application for Recorded Maps on DVD (PDF). Complete set of Nevada County Recorded Maps on DVD from 1865 through present year $235. Quarterly Update Map DVD $15. You can not purchase just the update DVD without first purchasing the complete set.
