Where is the new library located?
The new facility is located at 11252 Pleasant Valley Road, in the Wildwood Center. It is adjacent to the Pharmacy and Barbershop in the same shopping center.
When will the new library open?
Front door pick-up service will resume in the new location on Thursday, January 21st.
Will the library be closed during the move?
Yes. The library will be closed beginning Friday, January 15th through Wednesday, January 20th.
What are the days and hours of the new location?
Hours and days will remain the same as the current library schedule.
- Front door pick-up Monday-Friday Noon - 3 PM.
- Phone service Monday-Friday Noon-5 PM.
When can the public enter the new library location? In response to recommendations made by Public Health Guidelines and as a precaution to help limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), public access to the interior and outside patio area are temporarily unavailable. Will you be offering tours of the new facility?
Although COVID prevents us from inviting the public into the facility, community members will be able to virtually visit the new library on our social media site in the near future at https://www.facebook.com/nevadacounty.library.
Where can I return books while the library is closed?
While the Penn Valley Library Bookdrop is closed between January 15th and January 20th, items may be returned at any of the other Nevada County Community Library book drop locations. Patrons may also return items to the Penn Valley Library book drop after January 21st. No fines will be assessed.
How can I get books and materials while the Penn Valley Library is closed?
Patrons may still place holds on items through our library catalog and pick up at other locations or continue to hold at the Penn Valley Library to be picked up after the reopening.
What if I placed a hold at another library during the closure. Can I change the hold location to Penn Valley after you reopen?
Yes. As long as an item is not already en route to a library location, hold locations may be changed. Patrons can make the change by logging into their account or by calling the library to request the change.
