If you would like to cancel your registration in Nevada County, you can visit our office or send us a letter of cancellation that includes:
A Voter Registration form must be completed, signed, dated and postmarked or delivered no later than 29 days before an election to receive a voter information pamphlet, and other important election information. Voters who register between 29 and 15 days before an election will not receive a voter information pamphlet, but they will receive a postcard notifying them of their polling place.
This confidential mailing address program run by the Secretary of State's Office has given thousands the room to live and vote again without fear. The program, which provides a free post office box and mail forwarding service, is designed to help victims and survivors of domestic violence, stalking or sexual assault to start new lives in peace and to provide added protections to their overall safety plans.

Who is Eligible to Register
You can register to vote in Nevada County if all of the following are true:
- You are a citizen of the United States
- You reside in Nevada County
- You will be at least 18 years old at the time of the next election
- You are not in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony
- You have not been found by a court to be mentally incompetent
Update Registration
You need to update your registration if:
- You moved to a new residence
- You changed your name
- You wish to change your political party preference
- You were registered as a military or overseas voter and have returned to the United States

- Date of birth
- Full name
- Residence address in Nevada County
- Signature
