August 8, 2018 - Nevada County has become aware of a statewide scam on EBT cards. Customers have reported receiving text messages and/or phone calls from the number (424) 337-3429. An automated recording asks you to provide personal information, including your EBT 16-digit card number and PIN. When the information is given, the perpetrators then create a card and withdraw funds from your account.
The text message says: Alert for EBT Cards beginning with 5077. Please call 424-337-3429
If you receive a call or text from this number, DO NOT respond or give out any personal information.
