The National Weather Service is predicting heavy snow and cold temperatures in the foothills through Sunday.
In an effort to collaborate over one of our most vulnerable populations, the City of Nevada City, Sierra Roots, Salvation Army, and the County have activated their Extreme Weather Shelter Protocol for Saturday, February 2nd, through Monday morning, February 11th. This is an effort to temporarily shelter homeless citizens in our community during cold temperatures and stormy weather. Hours of operation are 4:30 p.m. through 7:30 a.m. the next morning. This will make nine consecutive nights of sheltering by both providers.
