Nevada County Child Welfare Services has been awarded an amazing opportunity with Comfort Cases and Movement Mortgage, a company in the mortgage industry. 51 branches in the United States have been raising money to participate in a packing party - an event where people come together to put together comfort cases. Movement Mortgage of Nevada County identified Nevada County Child Welfare Services as the agency they will send their completed cases to. The team lead has also requested that the agency speak with the employees upon delivery of the cases about the specific needs of your community regarding youth in the foster care system.
On September 3rd, Nevada County Social Worker Cara Carvalho connected with Heidi Seavers, the representative from Movement Mortgage's Grass Valley branch and Tony Bonetti, Executive Director of Comfort Cases to begin the process of accepting this generous gift. Typically Comfort Cases send out 50 cases per agency, however Movement Mortgage raised enough money to pack 143 cases and 60 duffel bags for Nevada County Youth! On October 29, 2019, Movement Mortgage had a packing party and prepared 143 individualized backpacks for specifically identified youth in our community, during the County wide power outage, no less!
