$225,000 Nevada County Last-Mile Broadband Grant Application Available

The application process for the Nevada County Last-Mile Broadband Grant, managed by Sierra Business Council (SBC), is officially open. The focus of the Nevada County Last-Mile Broadband Grant Program is to provide resources that help make the financial case for new and existing Internet Service Providers to invest in building broadband infrastructure that supports economic development, public safety, education and overall community prosperity in Nevada County. Funds will be targeted to areas that are unlikely to receive broadband service without grant funding. The maximum grant amount is $225,000. Multiple, smaller grants will be considered.

Application details are available at www.SierraBusiness.org. SBC must receive completed applications and supporting documents by December 6th, 5:00 PM to be considered for funding. Submissions will be accepted via email to Chelsea Walterscheid at cwalterscheid@sbcouncil.org. An applicant may apply for more than one project, but a separate application must be completed for each project. The estimated date for final award decisions is January 21, 2020.

Sierra Business Council pioneers and demonstrates innovative approaches to increase community vitality, economic prosperity, environmental quality, and social fairness in the Sierra Nevada.
