Supervisors Unanimously Adopt 2020 Board Objectives

The Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted their 2020 Board Objectives at the February 11th Board Meeting. The Board Objectives for 2020 include fiscal stability and core services, wildfire, preparation for PSPS events, economic development, housing, cannabis, homelessness and resiliency.

Many community organizations and residents came out to speak in support of the objectives the Board identified in their January Workshop that aim to address community challenges.

"Today we heard from engaged community members about the issues most important to them and us. As a board it is imperative that our objectives reflect these shared priorities in 2020," said Board of Supervisors Chair Heidi Hall. "We are grateful to our community partners who shared insights and committed to work with us on these priorities."

"I think what really is moving is to see the collaboration that comes from the community as we work through these things, so thank you all for being a part of this," added District 4 Supervisor Sue Hoek. "We can’t do this alone. This is all about us being a community, so kudos to you."

Each year, the Board of Supervisors identifies their annual priorities in January during the Board Workshop. The 2020 Board Objectives are used for the management of County operations, programs and services in addition to the 2020/2021 budget development process.

"I look forward to working with staff and our community partners on the 2020 policy objectives adopted by the Board," said County Executive Officer Alison Lehman. "A unified community strategy came up across all topics at the Board Workshop and I was pleased to see the strong community support for the Board Objectives today."
