Nevada County Intern Spotlight: Abigail Middleton

Intern spotlight: Abigail Middleton

The Human Resources Office administers a vibrant, made-to-order internship program designed to provide learning and experience opportunities for individuals in the community, high school and college students, and members of the military community. We solicit departmental needs and create unique internship opportunities covering a wide range of fields and interests. We encourage citizens to reach out to us to inform us of their areas of interest, and we attempt to match them to an internship opportunity.  We strive to reach and teach!  We attempt to ignite interest in public sector careers by providing meaningful internship experiences.

Abigail is a recent graduate from California State University, Sacramento. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in Sociology. Abigail participated in the PRSSA organization contributing to the Events and Fundraising Committee, Writing Committee, and Digital Committee. She is now attending Columbia Southern University as an MBA student with a concentration in Finance.

Abigail works as an Intern Coordinator, guiding and advising Interns. She has been with the County since April 2020 in the Human Resources Department and has been professionally uplifting the Intern program. Human Resources Director, Steve Rose and Lead Intern Coordinator, Danny Newlon have both commented on her ability to raise the bar and any organization would be improved by her presence and hiring. Abigail has undergone developing the Internship Program alongside the Intern Coordinator Team. She has provided a valuable skillset, leveraging her management and technological skills, without which the Internship Program would not progress successfully.
