NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS
Notice is hereby given that the Nevada County Board of Supervisors will hold Budget Hearings on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, beginning at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of hearing written and oral comments from the public concerning the proposed Final Budget for Fiscal Year 2021/22 totaling approximately $299,864,980. Final Budget information and additional background materials will be available for public inspection beginning May 20, 2021 on the County Executive office’s website at: https://www.mynevadacounty.com/366/County-Budget-Portal.
The public meeting will be held at the Eric Rood Administration Center Board of Supervisor Chambers, located at 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, unless Governor Newsom’s Executive Order pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic and/or the social distancing guidelines as outlined by the Nevada County Public Health Department are still in effect at that time. In the case of ongoing social distancing, the Board Chambers will remain closed to the public. The Board of Supervisors will attend the meeting and participate remotely to the same extent as if they were present.
If social distancing measures are in effect and the meeting occurs remotely, members of the public may still provide live public comment during the hearing, and may submit written comments on this matter by email, U.S. Mail, or through our eComment system at www.mynevadacounty.com/boardmeetings. As the date grows closer to the public hearing, please see the June 1, 2021 Agenda, or contact the Clerk of the Board at (530) 265-1480 or firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information on the location of the meeting, as well as how to provide live comments during the public hearing. In order for comments to be entered into the administrative record of the meeting, they must be received no later than 8:00 a.m. on the morning of the noticed meeting.
You have the right to participate in the public hearings to discuss the Fiscal Year 2021/22 County budget, by providing testimony in the manner outlined above, and/or submitting written materials regarding these matters. Written materials and comments (an original and 9 copies) may be submitted to the Clerk of the Board at 950 Maidu Avenue, Suite 200, PO Box 599002, Nevada City, CA 95959, prior to the public hearings. The Board Chair may place reasonable restrictions on the time allowed to any person to comment on these matters. Any person commenting on behalf of an organization or group who wishes additional time must have a written statement signed by an officer of that organization stating that he/she is authorized to speak on behalf of that body, and that he/she is relaying the majority thinking thereof.
