Adopt-A-Road CDA Volunteer Day

Adopt-A-Road Volunteer Day - CDA Volunteers

The Community Development Agency (CDA) cleaned up our “adopted” LaBarr Meadows Road on Saturday, May 22, 2021. The effort comes at a critical time in the County’s effort to encourage litter pick-up, responsible recreation, and general stewardship of the Sierra foothills. Not only did participants from the agency’s team pick up 750 pounds of trash, they were welcomed by the community with waves, thumbs up, and general enthusiasm for the work being done.

Want to get involved? You can Adopt-a-Road through Nevada County’s Department of Public Works. There are many benefits to this kind of group volunteer project. Your organization is showcased through recognition signs as the sponsor of that roadway section. The environment thrives as does the group. This kind of group volunteerism fosters stronger relationships, engagement within a team, and ultimately develops stronger teams. To learn more, visit the site above or email or call the Public Works Department at: Public.Works@co.nevada.ca.us or by phone at (530) 265-1411.
