Julie was born and raised in Fullerton, California, and visited Nevada County often with her family as a young child. She eventually moved here in 1979 after studying to become a licensed Cosmetologist. After marrying and having two children, Julie went back to school and earned a tax preparer’s license. She concurrently served as an Administrative Assistant for two separate businesses: a financial planning/tax preparation firm and a human resources consulting firm. She also volunteered her time to the schools where her two sons attended, providing bookkeeping and other administrative services.
Julie began her career with Nevada County as a Board Clerk in the Board of Supervisors’ office in October 2004, and in March 2012, was promoted to the position of Deputy Clerk to the Board. In May 2015, Julie was appointed Clerk of the Board by the Board of Supervisors following the retirement of the previous Clerk, Donna Landi, who had served 3 years in the position. Julie has many years of experience in all aspects of the Clerk of the Board’s office, including serving as Clerk to the Assessment Appeals Board. She is also a member of the California Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Association (CCBSA), and on November 30, 2017 was honored by CCBSA with the designation of Certified Clerk of the Board (CCB). The CCB program was created to recognize those Clerks of the Board who have achieved a level of professionalism and leadership among the Clerks of the Board throughout the State. The CCB award is granted after an applicant has met specific requirements in education, experience, professional participation and contribution to the organization.
