She is the author of Feral, North Carolina, 1965, her debut novel, that was listed in Buzzfeed as one of the "18 Must Read Books from Indie Presses."She serves as Humanities and English department chair at Sierra Nevada College, Lake Tahoe, where she teaches in the undergraduate and MFA in creative writing programs.
