The story begins at the Grass Valley Library, where you can request a map of the StoryWalk route, and ends at the Bamboo Home Store. Book pages are posted in shop windows, and each page will direct you to the next participating business's display.

  2. Make An Emergency Kit Grab Bag

    Swing by the library and grab a "Make An Emergency Kit" bag. Take it home and fill it up with everything you need for an emergency situation! Grab bags will be available during curbside pickup from 12 pm-3 pm. You can get one from library staff when picking up your books or by drop in. Call the library when you arrive at 530-265-7050 and let a staff member know you would like an activity bag. All items are first come, first served.

  1. Love-and-Kindness Art Contest

    Calling all inspiring young artists! Throughout the months of June and July, the Truckee Library will accept "love-and-kindness-themed" entries for an art contest. A prize will be awarded for the winner of each of the three age groups (preschool, elementary school, and tween/teen). All forms of art such as drawing, paintings, collages, etc. are acceptable. Participants can either mail entries to the library or leave them in the library book drop. Name, age group, and contact information should be included with each entry. Winners will be contacted by library staff in August. Entries will be displayed at the library, for all to see, once the library is open to the public again!

  2. Truckee Storywalk

    For a unique outdoor experience, families will get a chance to stroll along the Truckee Legacy Trail for a "Truckee Library Storywalk" from June 15 through August 13. This year, the event will be based on the book Also an Octopus by Maggie Tokuda-Hall. This delightful picture book will send imaginations soaring! The storywalk begins below the Truckee Regional Park and continues east for about 0.7 miles. Look for the laminated signs!

  3. "JUST BOOKS" Book Club ONLINE

    Join us at the Truckee Library ONLINE for "Just Books" Book Club the third Tuesday of each month. We announce 1-3 months in advance, the titles we've chosen. "Just Books" originated through the "Book Shelf" book store and is now hosted by the Truckee Library.We'll be covering the May title, "The War on Normal People", by Andrew Yang, and June's selected book "One thousand white women : the journals of May Dodd" by Jim Fergus.
