    Adults of Nevada County!—We're challenging you to read for 30 minutes a week this winter! Pick up your starter bag from any of our locations offering curbside or front door pick up. Color in Sandy the Snowman game board as you go and/or log your reading in READsquared each week and win a Nevada County Community Library mug and goodies once you finish. Snowman game boards are available for pick-up at your favorite branch or as a printout on the library's website.

  2. Youth Winter Reading Challenge

    Kids and teens—read for 10 minutes a day, one hour a week. Color in the County Land game board as you go! Log your reading in READsquared each week to enter to win a board game. More ways to enter: complete a BINGO card, do a library grab-and-go craft or Book Box, attend a virtual program, or do a scavenger hunt. County Land game boards are available for pick-up at your favorite branch or as a printout on the library's website.

    With a traveling art kit and this program, you are ready to make art anytime and anywhere that inspiration strikes. Join us on Zoom. Drop-in at any part of the hour to share what you've made, where you were and what inspired you. Coffee break, lunch break, waiting; in line, Dr. apt, kids pick-up, all are the perfect times to de-stress with a quick a drawing or painting. It doesn't take much to relax and create. Techniques and tips on using art supplies and a simple challenge with prompts will be given at each meeting. ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME! Registration is required to receive zoom information and traveling art starter kit.
