What should I do if I have concerns about violations of the Stay-At-Home order?

If you have a concern about a food establishment or facility please contact our Environmental Health Department at 530 265-1222 to determine the risk and appropriate response. For concerns about public gatherings not in compliance with the state-wide stay at home order please contact law enforcement at 530 265-7880.

Community members that have complaints regarding the continuation of use of short-term rental facilities and/or construction related social distancing concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic can complete the following and Code Compliance/Building Department staff will investigate their complaint:

  • Complete the physical Code Compliance Division complaint form and email to codecompliance@co.nevada.ca.us or drop off in our “drop box” located at the Rood center near the Community Development Agency lobby double doors.
  • Community members can also fill out and submit a Code Compliance Complaint online via Ask Nevada County.
  • Including addresses for these locations will be crucial to following up on these complaints and we will be reminding complainants of this.
  • If the community has any questions regarding the investigation and/or enforcement of the use of short-term rental facilities and/or construction related social distancing in Nevada County during the COVID-19 pandemic they can call the Nevada County Community Development Agency at 530-265-1222 Option 4 or email Code Compliance at codecompliance@co.nevada.ca.us.

If the Short Term Rental in question is in Town of Truckee limits, please (or whoever receives the complaint) forward to town@townoftruckee.com. They will need the address and any unit number to follow-up. The Town will then conduct an investigation using Code Enforcement and the owner will receive a letter from the Town Attorney if they are determined to be in violation.
